About Tenth Street Pasta & Pizza

Located at 1000 Willow Ave, Hoboken, NJ 07030, Tenth Street Pasta & Pizza operates as a pizza restaurant serving Hoboken in New Jersey. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. Typical hours are 4–10 pm. Note that it does not open on Tuesday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (201) 683-8134. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is tenthstreetpizza.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Its Google rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 619 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Hoboken is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Hoboken follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

While the pizza here is visually appealing, its taste is, at best, mediocre. Although they do not offer tap water, that's something I can overlook. The square pizza was my least favorite, primarily because of its dense and chewy dough. I was hoping for a light and airy dough. The round pie, however, was thin, crispy, and decent. If I were to come back here, I would get the round pie with tomato sauce instead of the mozzarella and ricotta.

Overall, pizza is top 5 in Hoboken but on a good day. I know they say their pizza is well done but ours was blackened to the point where the crust was inedible. There is outdoor seating but their fan on the side of the building buzzes incessantly killing the atmosphere. Service is what you would expect, a messy area remained through the entire meal. I think this is a better takeout spot. Oh and also they don’t do tap water which is strange - $7 bottles the only option.

The pizza here is genuinely excellent, easily some of the best I’ve had in the area, which is the main reason I’d be willing to give this place another chance. Unfortunately, the service was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. We placed a simple pizza order and ended up waiting nearly an hour before it arrived. About 15 minutes in, our waiter came back and asked what we had ordered, which made it seem like the order hadn’t been properly put in. Around 15 minutes after that, we followed up again and were told they would check on it, only to come back and say it would be a few more minutes because the original pizza had been β€œburnt.” We had a single round pie, half regular and half meatball ricotta, so it was not a large or even complex order. During all of this, I had to ask multiple staff members for updates, and it was frustrating to see tables that were seated after us receive their food well before we did. The lack of communication and follow-through really stood out. I was even told I had to go outside myself to get the manager to alert him, which only compounded my frustration at an already irritating situation. When the food finally arrived, it was excellent, but

We had ordered the square pizza for delivery. I wasn’t impressed by the pizza and was disappointed. We ordered the square buffala pie with two different toppings which came out to a whopping $70 for one pizza with delivery fee and not including tip for the nice delivery guy. The pizza toppings were good. The pesto we added was flavorful. The pizza crust was not it. I knew before ordering that tenth street pizza was known for their thin and crispy pizza, this pizza was thin but not crispy and was surprisingly tough. The pizza was not good and not worth $70. I would try tenth street pizza again just not the buffala pie for $70.

Most of the reviews are true, really wanted to like this place but it was hindered by the lack of good service. For context, my wife and I came around 730pm on a Saturday night. There was a 30 minute wait for indoor dining, and no wait for outdoor, so we chose the latter. We sat there for about 10 minutes before I had to reach out to someone to take our order. We had the classic square pie (half pepperoni half olives), the naked meatballs and bottled water because for some reason they dont serve tap which is ridiculous. The naked meatballs came out right away but they were subpar. It tasted dry and old and i can say with confidence i have definitely made better meatballs. The pizza however, took nearly 40 minutes for it to be served to us. It was definitely fresh and well done. I enjoyed the pizza but definitely had better. The workers were friendly but the restaurant itself seems unorganized and overwhelmed with dine in customers as well as customers who are there for pickup. Proceed with caution.
